Come to the Annual Garden Party at Mantra Lorne

Mantra Lorne will celebrate and commemorate 149 years of accommodation of its centrepiece, Erskine House, with a Garden Party charity event from 2pm on Saturday 28 October, 2017.

The Garden Party is also a major fundraising initiative for the Luke Batty Foundation, the resort’s official charity partner, to raise much-needed funds for domestic violence prevention and awareness.

Entry to the garden party, as well as kid’s games, outdoor movies and entertainment is provided at no cost, with food and drinks available to purchase.

Local musicians, including slide guitarist and singer/songwriter Tim Hulsman, will provide live entertainment throughout the afternoon.

A fast 4’s doubles tennis tournament will be played on the property’s tennis court from 3pm, with tickets $20 per team. To register a team, contact lorne.fbs@mantra.com.au by Wednesday 25 October.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Luke Batty Foundation.

Mantra Lorne General Manager Abraham Dow said he encourages the local community to come along and to share in an afternoon of entertainment.

We want the community to come together and enjoy the beautiful facilities on offer at Mantra Lorne, and to not only celebrate another milestone year for Erskine House but to also raise funds for the Luke Batty Foundation,” said Mr Dow.

We have countless prizes up for grabs on the day in our raffle and silent auction including a variety of accommodation vouchers and gift packs from local businesses that have shown their support to the worthy cause.

Mantra Group is a proud supporter of the Luke Batty Foundation, as passionate advocates against family violence. The foundation brings awareness to the social issue of domestic violence. It works to achieve empowerment of women, give voices to children and hold accountability to the perpetrator through education, advocacy and campaigning. Mantra Lorne is situated on the famous Great Ocean Road and offers a great mix of modern style and rich history.

Having been built around the oldest permanently operating guesthouse in Victoria, Erskine House, the property offers a range of modern apartments and heritage hotel rooms as well as facilities including broadband internet, croquet lawns and tennis courts, day spa, and an indoor heated mineral pool.

Erskine House, the oldest and largest guesthouse in Victoria, was established in the 1860’s and has been significantly recognised in the history of the state’s tourism as one of the first tourist facilities to be developed in Victoria.

The grounds, which are situated along the seaside and coastal bush backdrop, reinforce the exclusivity and aesthetic appeal of the Erskine House experience.

It has social significance in the community for remaining on the same site and for retaining elements that relate to various phases of its development.
