Jeff WOOLLEY

Jeff was born in Pascoe Vale. His father was a butcher, who wished to work outdoors, therefore he delivered ice to the main hotels in Melbourne including the Windsor and Lou Richard’s hotel. His mother currently resides in Lorne.

Jeff attended Hadfield High School in the late 60’s and then he qualified in electronics and projection technology at the Royal Melbourne Institute. After graduating, he worked at Village Cinemas, then for 20 years at the Moonee Valley Racing Club where he was responsible for their audio visual system and closed circuit television and finally at the State Film Centre where he met his current partner Janet McLeod.

In 2005, Jeff and Janet moved to Lorne to support her parents, Jock and Audrey McLeod, on their property along the Erskine Falls Road. Jock introduced Jeff to lawn bowls in the 2008/09 season and he was part of the division five premiership team that year. Jeff’s other interests include fishing and gardening. He has worked part-time at the Lorne Hotel and Lorne Hardware and Leisure. He currently has the contract to operate the bar, functions and barefoot bowling at the Lorne Bowls Club.

In conjunction with Luke Morgan, Jeff operates Lawners Café at the Lorne Bowls Club. Jeff is responsible for bar operation. They offer a warm and friendly atmosphere and a menu including Luke’s curries, pasta dishes and his magnificent desserts. Jeff also offers bowls coaching and a summer social bowling program.

Jeff has twin daughters Ruby and Rosie. Ruby lives in Townsville and Rosie in Melbourne. Jeff’s son Redmond came to Lorne when Jeff moved, to complete his schooling. Red currently lives in Ocean Grove.
