Live Wire Park, Lorne’s latest attraction, received the gold award at the RACV VTIC (Victorian Industry Tourism Council) Awards for Best New Tourism Business on last month.
Live Wire Park is Australia’s newest and most electrifying outdoor adventure park, showcasing world class facilities located right here in Lorne, in one of the world’s most beautiful regions, the Great Ocean Road. Live Wire Park was founded by father and son team and long term residents of Lorne, Chris and Luke Nisbet, who have had an affinity with the region for generations.
The core values and essence of the park is illustrated in its Mission Statement which is “Live Wire Park is an elevated, adrenaline-producing experience that reconnects its visitors with each other and nature by recharging the human spirit through providing world class facilities along with inspiring, reassuring staff, whilst actively supporting the environment and the local community”. Since its launch in March 2018, the Park has hosted over 50,000 visitors priding itself on its company ethos which is “Put a smile on everyone’s faces”.
The feedback the Park has received has been overwhelmingly positive which has been reflected in the review ratings it has received on Google (4.7), Trip Advisor (4.7) and Facebook (4.8). The Park prides itself on providing a great platform for people of all ages to reconnect with each other in the age of technology.
Best sustainable practices are also adopted at the Park which also operates completely off grid, making it proudly Eco sustainable. During the design phase, a specialised solar system was developed to allow sunlight to be captured and stored in a three tonne battery bank, which powers the entire facility. The Park also has a plant to treat all water waste on site which and it has been designed to the treated water throughout area of the Park for forest regeneration. The Park also catches and stores rainwater which is used for the amenities within the Park.
Live Wire Park has also provided new opportunities for local employment. Since opening its doors, Live Wire Park has created over seventy-five (75) jobs and currently employs forty five (45) local people (many of whom are passionate local youth).
Live Wire Park is fundamentally an elevated outdoor adventure park which is made up of five different experiences offering something for everyone;
Canopy Circuit
This is where customers can experience a leisurely 400 metre walk throughout the Park, including a 120 metre long bridged walkway which provides a vista of the Park activities and is elevated 10 metres above the ground. The all new Spring Circuit is a series of 5 netted trampoline zones that is elevated within the beauty of the Park’s forest. This activity is included in Admission and is suitable for every age which provides an area where the entire family can reconnect with each other immersed in nature.
Short Circuit
The Short Circuit is a high ropes course specifically designed for younger children (although adults can join in the fun too). There are four levels which include 26 obstacles and two zip lines. It is a great avenue for children to build confidence and to also experience nature in a fun and challenging way. A minimum height requirement of 110 centimetres and weight restrictions of up to 120 kilograms do apply.
Super Circuit
One of the world’s largest high ropes courses, the Super Circuit is a five-level activity which is aimed at teens and adults. This circuit boasts 56 obstacles, five zip lines, a climbing wall and other challenging obstacles that are best experienced first-hand. This is a great option for everyone who is over 135 centimetres in height. Weight restrictions of up to 120 kilograms do apply.
Shockwave Zip Coaster
One of just four worldwide, the Shockwave Zip Coaster is a 525 metre zip line roller coaster which snakes its way throughout the canopy of the forest. The Zip Coaster is Australia’s most extreme zip line where participants are propelled by the force of gravity for a unique thrilling experience. Weight restrictions of up to 120 kilograms do apply.
